After trying this with some extra Black DLC Bolt Action Minis without a home last year with great results, we decided to throw more perfectly good pens in the tumbler and rough up that beautiful coating – this time in all three lengths. The finish is a gray darker than Stonewashed Titanum with great definition of the signature Tactile texture.
All of our Standard length pens come with a Pilot 0.7mm refill, the Shorts come with a Schmidt EasyFlow 9000 medium refill, and the Minis come with a Pilot G2 Mini 0.7mm refill. Many of our customers like to use their own personal favorites, however, so we put together a list of compatible refills that work with our pens.

This is my first expensive pen. I wanted an American made pen and this is where I ended up. When I first got it, I was a little disappointed with the grittiness of the action and the pen would not write consistently. I put a couple drops of mineral oil in the action and just kept using it. After about 2 weeks of daily use, is has now broken in and is nice and smooth, I'm happy to say. As for the writing quality, I was about to buy a new refill when I came across a recommendation to write with it for 10 minutes straight to see if that would help. I scribbled hard filling a couple notebook pages with ink, and bam, it has worked perfectly ever since! Now this pen is a joy to write with, and it writes extremely well on multiple surfaces and types of paper. The fit and finish is superb and I am very happy with my purchase. I really like the DLC finish and the texture is perfect, and extremely well done. The only recommendation I have is if the bolt mechanism was polished from the factory, it likely would be a smoother action right out of the box.I went from a 3 star initial impression to 5 stars and highly recommended. I'm looking forward to using this pen for years to come.

Initially purchased the Mini as no other option was available but the Short has come back in stock so it had to be purchased. Of all the finishes made this far by TT this is my favourite.
Looks and feels as good or better than expected.
Pen looks and feels good however I’m a bit disappointed with the smoothness of the bolt action mechanism. Having recently gotten into EDC pens I’ve tried many other bolt action offerings from many other recognizable names in the game and this one has got to have the roughest, inconsistent feel. I’ve even lubricated the bolt/housing and played with it idle for several days. Unless mine is a manufacturing fluke, I’m going to be sticking to other brands
