Depending on which end of the plank you're on, there's a certain allure about being a pirate. Something about the sense of adventure from setting sail across the open sea in search of treasure, free from taxation but always in peril. The Buccaneer is our attempt to capture that childlike excitement without the shipwrecks, maroonings, and well, all the plundering and other bad stuff.
Our crew of ruthless painters toiled in the brig for months to get the perfect wood grain finish to anchor the design with a pop of red in the bolt channel, real 24kt gold plated bolt, Jolly Roger top cap, and weathered treasure map on the clip. Hoist the mainsail, batten down the hatches, and yo ho ho with a bottle of rum.
To make this release extra special we included a real 24 karat gold plated stainless steel bolt (titanium doesn't work as well). No need to get dirty digging for treasure when you've got some gold right in your pocket.
Choose from three lengths of our most popular model – the Titanium Bolt Action pen. The Buccaneer is available in Standard (Pilot G2 0.7mm), Short (Schmidt EasyFlow 9000), or Mini (Pilot G2 0.7mm Mini) lengths. Plenty of options for the discerning cartographer or crustacean.
Cerakote is a thin coating of ceramic that's applied to the surface of our titanium pens. It's abrasion, chemical, temperature, and scratch-resistant but not proof. Wear will show with time and use.

My first Tactile Turn pen. Works great and looks amazing! Glad I was able to grab one of these one offs.
This pen has lived up to its name. Like Close Encounters, people are drawn to the glowing UFO and cannot resist investigating. Then they get it in their hands and write with it and next thing you know, you’re tracking down your spaceship pen. Maybe next a starship or US Rocket pen. Then again, that might be two pens to have to keep an eye on.

Bolt action is very smooth, short size is just large enough in the hand, and the green accents really pop in all light conditions. Exactly what I hoped for.
Around 1996 me own dear sweet mother gave me a UFO Perfect Pencil by Faber Castell, and I remember clear as yesterday hoping one day to find the perfect matching pen to go with it. Well, now thanks to a Tactile Turning, with a little buff and polish, I am the proud user of both a UFO Pencil and a matching Rowell Pen. My set is finally whole, it took 30 years but the moment that pen and pencil met they were the best of friends and now explore the universe of ideas together in a most joyous of revelries toward discoveries both here on earth and places far deeper into the night skies.

Very well made and I love the alien theme. I appreciate how accessible refilling the ink is. It is a standard size and the ink it comes with is common enough that it isn't a problem to order more
Great feel and very high quality
If you're tuned into our Limited Release drops of exotic treatments and materials, you probably noticed that they tend to sell out pretty fast. Seasonal Releases are much easier to get your hands on because, instead of a set quantity, they're available for a set period of time. No fast fingers required or having to dip out of that important work meeting to try and snag one from your phone in the bathroom.
